Dr. James Mack serves as Chief of the Macromolecular Biophysics and Biological Chemistry Review Branch (MBBC RB).
Dr. James W. Mack earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry, specializing in solid-state NMR spectroscopy, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He then did postdoctoral work at the National Institutes of Health, where he studied the internal dynamics and structural organization of intermediate filaments, filament-associated proteins, and other cytoskeletal protein components. He then spent 14 years on the faculty of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Howard University College of Medicine, where his research interests were in structural and biophysical characterization of homeodomain-DNA interactions, before joining the Center for Scientific Review.
