Dr. Todd E. White earned his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Florida and completed his postdoctoral training at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM). Prior to joining the NIH, he was a research biologist at the Atlanta VA Health Care System and an assistant professor at MSM. Dr. White's research interests centered on discovering and developing effective methods to better diagnose and treat neurotrauma using preclinical models of traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. His work integrated the use of genomics, bioinformatics, and behavioral testing to characterize injury models. Therapeutic approaches included neurotransplantation of primary fetal tissue and stem cells, in vivo gene therapy, and pharmacological interventions.
