Dr. Robert O’Hagan received his Ph.D. in biology at Columbia University, where he studied the molecules required for sensory mechanotransduction using electrophysiological methods in the nematode, C. elegans. After a post-doctoral position at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, studying dopaminergic modulation of locomotion, Dr. O’Hagan moved to Rutgers University. There, he used genetic methods to investigate how post-translational modification of microtubules affects the structure, function, and maintenance of sensory cilia. Thereafter, Dr. O’Hagan was an assistant professor of biology at Montclair State University, where he studied regulation of neuronal microtubules in C. elegans and taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in biology and genetics.
