Dr. Ashley Kopec earned a Ph.D. in neural science from New York University and received postdoctoral training at Duke University and Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital before accepting a faculty position at Albany Medical College. Over her research career, Dr. Kopec has studied cognitive function in humans using fMRI, EEG, and cognitive testing, the molecular mechanisms of learning and memory in invertebrates, and the sex-specific neuroimmunology underlying social development and social aging in rodents. Her research was supported by the NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) fellowships at both the pre- and post-doctoral levels, as well as NIH R01 funding in her independent laboratory.
