Dr. Manoj Valiyaveettil earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Kerala, India. He completed postdoctoral training at Georgetown University Medical Center, focusing on proteoglycan biochemistry in the onset of malaria pathology, followed by a junior faculty position at Cleveland Clinic working on the significance of platelet scavenger receptors in hyperlipidemia and thrombosis. He joined the Department of Defense as a federal contractor and has worked in multiple capacities focused on the basic research aspects of combat casualty care, traumatic hemorrhage, and brain injury, and on the advanced development of novel blood products and hemostatic agents. Prior to joining CSR, he was working as a scientific review officer at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
