Dr. Xinli Nan earned his Ph.D. in molecular biology through joint training at the University of Ulm and the Paul Ehrlich Institute in Germany, following medical and graduate education in China. He completed postdoctoral training and conducted research at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the American Red Cross, and the Institute of Human Virology, where his work focused on immunology, HIV/AIDS pathogenesis, and related clinical care. Dr. Nan later joined the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR), where he managed the peer review of a broad portfolio of immunology grant applications within the Immunology Integrated Review Group. He subsequently served at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) as a health scientist administrator and scientific review officer, contributing to NIH-wide research portfolio analysis, policy development, strategic initiatives, and the oversight of diverse grant review activities before returning to CSR.
