Topics

  • Integrative functions: effects of exercise on the functional capacity of the musculoskeletal system and on pathology due to inherited disease, aging, and inactivity.
  • Physiological interactions between the musculoskeletal system and other organ systems in normal and disease states.
  • Cancer effects on the musculoskeletal system including sarcopenia and osteoporosis.
  • Physiology and pathophysiology of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders related to integrated behavior of the whole body and the influence of the external environment including degenerative joint diseases (e.g. osteoarthritis, intervertebral disc degeneration, post-traumatic osteoarthritis), trauma, aging, sport-related and repetitive motion disorders.
