Health Informatics in Patient Care Services – HSS (90)
Reviews applications that leverage and evaluate the effectiveness of health information technology (HIT) [e.g., mHealth, web-based, AI-based, patient portals, wearables, chatbots] to address: 1) patient/caregiver knowledge and understanding of health information or health data; 2) patient/caregiver access to or engagement with health services or health care systems; and/or 3) patient/caregiver communication with providers or other stakeholders (e.g., community, nonprofits, advocates). Emphasis is on evaluating previously developed IT methods/technology. The panel also reviews applications that focus on the organizational, systems, and policy factors that influence the use and implementation of HIT. Projects can be at the individual level (patients/caregivers), within ambulatory or clinical environments, or at the organization, systems, or policy levels.
