Biography
Dr. Bhattacharyya is the director of the Division of Planning, Analysis, and Information Management (DPAIM), which comprises three branches: Information Technology Services and Solutions Branch (ITSS); Analysis, Informatics, and Automation Branch (AIA); and the Strategic Planning and Implementation Branch (SPI).
Over the last 20 years, he has held senior-level IT positions at CSR and in private industries. Prior to joining NIH, Bhattacharyya worked as a program manager, systems architect and senior software developer.
In his earlier career as a scientist, he was a visiting fellow in the department of biochemistry at Michigan State University, a research scientist in the department of biological sciences at Northern Illinois University and an IRTA fellow at National Cancer Institute. He earned a master’s degree in Biochemistry from Calcutta University, a Master of Business Administration in project management from the University of Northern Virginia and a doctorate in biochemistry from Jadavpur University in India.
