Dr. Neerja Kaushik-Basu received her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Bombay University. Her postdoctoral training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, McGill University, Canada focused on structure-function relationships of HIV Reverse Transcriptase. Prior to joining the NIH, Dr. Kaushik-Basu spent several years as a NIH-funded associate professor at the Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences, New Jersey Medical School pursuing her long-standing research interests in positive-strand RNA viruses with a focus on Hepatitis C virus, SARS coronavirus and Dengue virus replication, pathogenesis, and mechanisms of antiviral therapeutics.
