Dr. Steven Ripp received his Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics at Oklahoma State University and thereafter completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Tennessee (UT)-Knoxville under an Alexander Hollaender Postdoctoral Fellowship. He remained at UT-Knoxville for 20 years, advancing to a research professor position with co-engagements at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the UT Health Science Center, Department of Surgery and College of Medicine. His research primarily focused on biosensors and preclinical biomedical imaging technologies, which he later transitioned into a life sciences company for which he served as the Chief Operating Officer.
