Dr. Erica Spears trained as an interdisciplinary scientist whose research focused on chronic disease prevention and health behaviors in historically marginalized populations. Dr. Spears earned her Doctor of Philosophy in health education from Texas A&M University. She completed her postdoctoral training in social epidemiology and population health in the Center for Health Ecology and Equity Research at Auburn University. Dr. Spears’ career has crossed sectors, with professional experiences in the academic, governmental and non-profit spaces.
