Dr. June Gin received a Ph.D. in resource policy and behavior from the University of Michigan's School of Environment and Sustainability, focusing on environmental sociology. Before joining CSR, she was a research health scientist at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Emergency Management Evaluation Center (VEMEC), where she developed resources to address continuity of care to ensure the well-being of unhoused individuals during disasters. She developed a web-based disaster planning curriculum for homeless service providers and studied factors driving COVID-19 vaccine uptake decisions among veterans experiencing homelessness. Prior to that, she was the community research and outreach manager at the Fritz Institute Bay Area Preparedness Initiative, partnering with San Francisco Community Agencies Responding to Disasters (SF CARD) to pilot an outreach program to improve the disaster preparedness of non-profit community-based organizations serving populations facing disproportionate disaster risks.
