Dr. Laureen Connell received her Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from Stony Brook University, where she studied the molecular mechanisms regulating the actin cytoskeleton and cell adhesion in cancer cells. She then worked as the assistant editor and then associate editor for the molecular biology journal Genes & Development, focusing on cell biology and genetics, and later worked as an associate editor at PLOS Medicine. Dr. Connell then returned to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press as the senior editor for Genes & Development and helped launch a new journal in the field of precision medicine, Cold Spring Harbor Molecular Case Studies. She subsequently served as the executive editor for Genes & Development before joining CSR.
