Molecular Genetics and Genomics – MGG
Review Branch Summary
The Molecular Genetics and Genomics Review Branch is led by Dr. Elena Smirnova. The branch reviews applications that emphasize molecular genetics and genomic questions to investigate mechanisms of DNA and RNA metabolism, regulation of gene expression, genome organization, genetic and genomic variation in human disease and complex traits, population genetics and evolutionary biology, and apply genetic insight to developing therapeutics. In addition, the branch reviews applications studying cell biology, biochemistry, and behavior of bacteria, archaea, and their phages. Applications may utilize a wide range of model organisms and approaches as they apply to genetic and genomic studies.
