Dr. Laude received a master’s degree in human biology and a Ph.D. in immunology from the University of Paris, France. Her emphasis of the research was cytokine induction in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass and the association of HIV infection with cytokines. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University, Missouri, where she worked on proteinase activity, and as a Fogarty Fellow at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), she worked on tuberculosis vaccine development. As a manager senior scientist at Baxter/North American Vaccine, she was involved in vaccine development against several infectious diseases. Before coming to the Center for Scientific Review, she worked as a Scientific Review Officer (SRO) for the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD).
