Ask the Right Person for Help:
Before you submit your application-
- Speak with a program officer (PO) at the NIH institute or center that you think might be interested in funding your application. You can identify potential program officers by using NIH RePorter to search for funded grants in your area; reported results will include the program officer's name.
- Speak with a scientific review officer (SRO) if you need assistance identifying an appropriate scientific review group to which to direct your application.
After you submit-
- Direct administrative questions about the review to your scientific review officer.
After the review-
- Direct questions about the outcome and guidance for resubmitting to your program officer.
