The Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Special Emphasis Panel (SEP) is a recurrent SEP that reviews applications to study potential causes, diagnosis, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, epidemiology, and treatments of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Panelists for this recurring SEP are recruited ad hoc each round based on expertise needed for the science of the applications received. Meeting members are listed on the aggregate roster for the IFCN IRG.

Shared Interests and Overlaps

Since the study of ME/CFS involves multiple medical disciplines and approaches (including alternative medicine and non-traditional approaches) the applications reviewed by this group range over the wide array of disciplines listed above, and individually are frequently multidisciplinary. Since there is the potential for overlap with many other study sections, the principal determining factor for referral to this panel should be the major emphasis of the application being the study of ME/CFS.
