Dr. Pat Manos earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wayne State University, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside. She completed her post-doctoral work in neurochemistry at UCLA focused on brain energy metabolism in the developing brain. Prior to joining the NIH, she was the Founder/Principal of CellenSys Biotechnology which provided services and reagents to the research community and was a contract lab for DARPA and NRL programs. She has held leadership positions at Lofstrand Laboratories, The Gillette Company and Searle/Monsanto/Pharmacia (now Pfizer) where she participated in the preclinical development of Celecoxib (Celebrex®)- COX II inhibitor and Vaniqa®- hair growth inhibitor.
