Dr. Ananya Paria came to CSR after serving in the Population Studies and Genetics Branch of the Division of Neuroscience at the National Institute on Aging. There, she worked in Population Studies and Epidemiology Research Programs on Alzheimer’s disease (AD), AD-related dementias (ADRD), and other neurodegenerative disorders in longitudinal cohorts of older adults across heterogenous populations in the U.S. and globally. Dr. Paria began her public health career at National Institutes of Health (NIH) working in the Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis at the National Cancer Institute. She subsequently worked several years in various interdisciplinary scientific positions at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, National Institute of Mental Health, and National Institute of Nursing Research in NIH and had previously served as a Scientific Program Review Administrator in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University. Dr. Paria earned her Doctor of Health Sciences (D.H.Sc.) from the University of Bridgeport College of Health Sciences with an emphasis on HIV Prevention Research where she investigated PrEP therapeutic efficacy of Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NRTIs) and Non-nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs) drug regimens in high-risk, HIV-negative heterogenous populations. She received her Master’s in Public Health (M.P.H.) in Epidemiology and Global Health from the University of Massachusetts, Master of Science (M.S.) in Biotechnology-Biodefense from the University of Maryland and a Certification in Global Health from the University of Massachusetts.
