Dr. Ella Jones earned her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California at Davis and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford. She has over 12 years of research experience in the private sector, pioneering the development of targeted molecules for cancer detection. Before joining NIH, Dr. Jones held a position as an imaging specialist at the University of California in San Francisco, where she devoted her career to translational cancer imaging research. Dr. Jones served as the principal investigator of DOD- and NIH-funded projects using MRI, optical, and PET/SPECT imaging of cancer diseases. Her expertise includes imaging probe design and development, preclinical disease models, molecular imaging, cancer biomarkers, and machine learning to predict treatment response. Dr. Jones published over 60 peer-reviewed papers, over 55 abstracts, and seven patents in diagnostic imaging.
