Dr. Emily Kilroy earned her Ph.D. in occupational science with a concentration in neuroscience from the University of Southern California (USC). She also holds a Master of Science from University College London and Yale University, specializing in developmental neuropathology. Dr. Kilroy has investigated a variety of developmental disorders, with a primary focus on autism and altered neural networks related to social and motor processing. As a postdoctoral fellow at USC, she concentrated on the microbiome-gut-brain connection in autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorders. Additionally, Dr. Kilroy has experience with a range of neuroimaging techniques, including novel, non-invasive methods to study perfusion trajectories across development and changes in perfusion related to Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Before transitioning to CSR, she entered the neurotech industry as the computational neuroscientist for Neurosity, where she focused on identifying brain states using real-time EEG data and developing AI algorithms to influence and shift these brain states through music and meditation.
