Dr. Jianxin Hu received his Ph. D. in molecular biology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of South Carolina. Before joining the CSR, he was a staff scientist at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), where he studied structure and function of the G protein-coupled calcium-sensing receptor and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. Research focused on the mapping of a receptor/G protein interface and a receptor dimer interface, and the investigation of the physiological roles of G protein-dependent versus β-arrestin-dependent signaling in hepatocytes.
