Dr. Jian Cao received his M.D. from Zhengzhou University School of Medicine in China and an M.S. from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He had postdoctoral training in the field of molecular and cellular biology of cancer at Kanazawa University in Japan and then at Stony Brook University (SBU) in New York. Prior to joining the CSR, Dr. Cao was a tenured professor in the SBU Department of Medicine, where his research focused on understanding the molecular mechanism of cancer metastasis and developing inhibitors targeting cancer dissemination. Dr. Cao’s research was continuously supported by the NIH, DOD, or private foundations, resulting in over 70 peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters, as well as 4 US-issued patents. He was a program leader for the Cancer Metastasis and Drug Discovery program at Stony Brook Cancer Center. Besides his own research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Cao also served as an academic editor and editorial board member for multiple scientific journals.
