Dr. Jacek Topczewski received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw. Dr. Topczewski then trained in developmental biology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. Following his training, Dr. Topczewski took a faculty position in the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He studied the role of cell polarity and cholesterol biosynthesis in the skeletal biology and the function of Wnt signaling in nervous system patterning, using a zebrafish model. Dr. Topczewski studies were supported by founding from NIH, state, and philanthropic sources. During that time, he served on NIH, National Science Foundation (NSF)and American Cancer Society (ACS) review panels and taught courses in neuroscience and developmental biology for graduate students.
