Dr. Zachary Bailey earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Tech where he studied the interactions of blast overpressure waves with biological systems. He pursued his post-doctoral training at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) through the National Research Council, Research Associateship Program. Before joining CSR, Dr. Bailey continued his career at WRAIR, becoming a Principal Investigator in the Brain Trauma Neuroprotection branch where his research focused on the development and testing of intervention strategies for pre-hospital management of brain trauma. His primary efforts involved the use biomaterials, point-of-care devices, and alternative drugs/delivery methods.
