Dr. Drake Morgan completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Experimental and Biological Psychology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and received postdoctoral training in the Department of Physiological and Pharmacology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Morgan then established a preclinical laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida, where he was associated with the Departments of Aging, Neuroscience, and Psychology. Beginning in graduate school, his NIH-supported research (NIDA, NIMH, and NIA) has covered a broad range of topics related to behavioral pharmacology, behavioral neuroscience, and aging. During this time, he served on NIH Special Emphasis Panels, published over 75 articles, and taught and trained undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. After leaving academia, he spent 6 years as a manuscript, grant, and journal editor. As a recipient of F31 and K01 awards, Dr. Morgan is especially interested in the opportunities provided by the wide variety of early career training awards funded by NIH.
