The Infectious Diseases and Immunology, F21B, study section reviews fellowship applications broadly focused on all research topics for viral, fungal, protozoa/helminthic pathogens or vectors in human and animal models; and development of anti-infective agents (except vaccines) to treat diseases

Shared Interests and Overlaps
- The three fellowship study sections covering immunology, microbiology and infectious diseases (F21B, F22 and F23) are broad in scope and cover substantially equivalent areas of science, with the final assignment made by the staff at the Center for Scientific Review to cluster similar scientific topics and ensure that each application has the appropriate expertise.
- Fellowship applications with a biological focus on HIV/AIDS are reviewed in HIV/AIDS Biological (F21A).
