Dr. David E. Pollio received his Ph.D. in social work and psychology from the University of Michigan. He came to CSR after serving as a distinguished professor, chairing the department of social work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to that he was the Hill Crest Foundation Endowed Professor of Mental Health Services Research at the University of Alabama. In addition, he was an associate professor in social work and psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis. His research has been funded by multiple institutes at NIH as PI and methodologist and has served as a reviewer for more than 20 years. He received the Pro Humanitate Literary Medal from the National Center for Child Welfare and the Goodman Award for services by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of St. Louis.
