Dr. B. Duane Price earned his Ph.D. in genetics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he studied developmental biology in fruit flies. He did his postdoctoral training at the UW-Madison Institute for Molecular Virology and then went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a research assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology. There, he was an NIH-funded investigator developing potential HIV vaccine vectors based on amplification of Nodamura virus RNA in yeast. Dr. Price then came to CSR after serving as the Deputy Director of the Office of Grants Management and Scientific Review (now Division of Extramural Activities) at the National Center for Advancing Translational Science. Prior to that, he spent thirteen years with the Scientific Review Program at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
