Dr. Salm Ward earned an M.S.W. and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in health sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was an assistant professor jointly appointed in public health and social work at the University of Georgia and an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she taught public health and social work graduate students. Dr. Salm Ward conducted social and behavioral research to improve maternal and infant health outcomes and published journal articles on topics such as infant sleep practices and interventions, infant and maternal health, and public health social work. Prior to earning her Ph.D., she coordinated clinical and behavioral health research studies and also practiced as a family therapist.
