Dr. Josh Matacotta received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco and completed his pre- and post-doctoral training in the counseling and psychological services department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Subsequently, he joined the faculty at Western University of Health Sciences, serving in both the College of Health Sciences and the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. Dr. Matacotta specializes in behavioral medicine, and his research focused on mental health in underrepresented communities and the impact of psychosocial factors on quality of life and treatment outcomes. He has served on numerous NIH study sections and has taught courses on the psychosocial aspects of health to graduate medical and health sciences students.
