She then trained as a neurobiologist at the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging at the University of Kentucky and the Laboratory of Neurosciences at the National Institute on Aging (NIA). Before joining CSR, Dr. Camandola was a staff scientist at the NIA, and her research effort was identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disorders in order to develop and test interventions that could delay/prevent their onset or progression.
