Dr. Linda MacArthur received her Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology, and had postdoctoral training in the Laboratory of Cell Biology at the National Institute of Mental Health on the regulation of opioid genes and worked as a staff scientist at the National Institute of Dental Research on chronic pain. She joined the faculty in the Department of Neuroscience at Georgetown University where she worked on animal models for spinal cord injury and neuropathic pain, and human biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease. At Georgetown University she co-directed neuroscience and anatomy courses for graduate physiology students. After leaving Georgetown she worked as a science and medical writer and analyst for private and federal contractors.
