Dr. Boris P. Sokolov serves as the Scientific Review Officer for CSR`s PDMA Study Section reviewing applications addressing the mechanisms and pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders.

Prior to coming to CSR, he was an tenure-track assistant professor of psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and subsequently intramural researcher at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, where he studied the molecular, genetic and cellular mechanisms of neuropsychiatric disorders and substance abuse. Dr. Sokolov earned his Ph.D. in molecular genetics and virology from the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Prior to neuropsychiatry, his research was focused on the epidemiology and evolution of influenza and later on human disorders of connective tissue. Dr. Sokolov is the author or co-author of 122 scientific publications.
