Dr. Boris P. Sokolov earned his Ph.D. in molecular genetics and virology from the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Prior to neuropsychiatry, his research was focused on the epidemiology and evolution of influenza and later human disorders of connective tissue. Prior to coming to CSR, he was a tenure-track assistant professor of psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and subsequently intramural researcher at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, where he studied the molecular, genetic and cellular mechanisms of neuropsychiatric disorders and substance abuse. Dr. Sokolov is the author or co-author of 122 scientific publications.
